Beautifully coordinated and accessorized outfits were a characteristic of 1920's women's fashions. Hats, shoes, stockings, purses, dresses and jewelry all worked collectively in perfect harmony to create a unique and chic fashion. Unfortunately the vibrancy of these outfits is absent in black and white pictures that showcase the period. The popular trend towards silk and rayon mirrored a taste for luxuriousness that became associated with the era.

The out-dating of bustles and corsets gave clothing designers a lot more freedom of expression resulting in progressive styling.
